The paper suggests that AKP ought to abandon its discourse of assimilation of the Kurds and op en up for negotiations, whereas the PKK must abandon its knockdown-dragout means. The paper finally suggests that the Kurdish movement could benefit from focalization on a popular goal of autonomy within Turkey and separating itself from Öcalans anti-capitalistic rhetoric.
